“they just don’t like you…”

I don’t know about you but I’ve come across such a statement a number of times over the years. I’m willing to admit to ownership of a somewhat grating personality. A certain failure to think before speaking has without doubt cost me occasionally.

While I personally have demonstrated the poor manners to earn my own enmities, I draw the line with unearned anger or resentment. In whatever form it takes; racism, sexism, ageism or any of the other isms and beyond, anyone with the “power” to do something is, in my mind, honor-bound to do so. It does however generally seem those individuals harbor a different opinion on the matter. Such is life.

This is “Bias”, March 19, 2018. Thank you!

Unrighteous fury shatters thick stone

Arrogant monarch, swiftly dethroned

Innocent words are transformed through tone

Relentlessly tears what once was home

Invective’s causation scarcely known

Deep within echo death rattle moans

Skewered through muscle, tissue and bone

All which is left is truth to be shown.

I would never attest to being a shining example for morality. That said, I treat everyone with precisely the same level of general disinterest. Now THAT is equality.:)

Please everyone enjoy a truly wonderful day. Textbook warm Spring morning around here and I hope the Sun burns just as brightly for you. Even if it’s cloudy, night-time, raining etc. always is it still somewhere up there. Remember.

  1. Hi, I liked this post and quite a few others on your blog, but you don’t have a like button to click. Or I would have done. Repeatedly. I understand that comments are more valid and useful but I can’t always think of something relevant to write. I like the name of your blog, dread poets sobriety, I enjoy that play on words. Any way. Just wanted to say, great job. All the best.

    1. Thank you so much Kristian! I had no idea the “like” button could only be found through the wordpress app. I have added a button directly to the website. Thank you again, that is invaluable advice and your compliments are most welcome of course as well. You’re amazing!!!

  2. Thank you, friend for the follow. Your profoundness shines through your words. This is the first post I’ve read of yours and it won’t be the last. I especially like the minor tone I’m hearing through this piece. Keep it up!
