Wonder Bread

Allow me to apologize up front for the decidedly preachy nature of today’s post. Then again, if one is to preach, Sunday does seem the optimal time.

It is concerning an issue that frankly I’m flabbergasted is still being debated but I’ve always been blessed to be surrounded my relatively enlightened individuals. Or at least those capable of grade school reading levels and basic reasoning skills.

I’m referring to the lovely entity that is the supposed “white power” movement. It should be noted that physically I’m really the poster-boy for such a thing. Blond hair, blue eyes, tall, chiseled frame. Ok maybe not the last one… Anyway, point being, there is absolutely nothing important or special about me because of those features. I find myself endlessly confused by what we’re supposed to be so proud of anyway? Like YEAH, we caused the most misery World-wide, enslaved the most people, annihilated the most cultures… Go team? I mean that’s just one race-traitor’s opinion but I’ve thought on it with some intensity.

As I’ve likely mentioned before I’m not really a big fan of any culture or race, my own especially included. I’ve glimpsed far too much of the filthy underside of that particular up-turned rock to ever reclaim any hint of innocence. That said, when I do venture out into the masses I am scrupulously kind to everyone. If I can add one micro-watt (that’s a thing) of illumination to the darkness I will and graciously so.

It’s once again one of life’s ubiquitous paradoxes, I mostly dislike people but if I saw one in danger I would immediately go to their aid. I think like all of the most cynical, I am still a romantic (broken or otherwise) at heart. Such is the way of things.:)

“Confederates”, May 25, 2018

Anyone desirous of white pride

Please just skulk away and hide

Go celebrate your culture sure

But quit pretending you’re so pure

If anything from what I’ve learned

We are those who from noble turned

Decimating full continents

Slaughtering the inhabitants

Evil comes from every race

Endless colors, the same face

We Caucasians are however

Holding moral high ground never.

There sure is a of a lot of evil shit done in the name of nobility, the search for truth or because of love.

That’s all I’ve got. I need to begin barricading my homestead against the likely coming assault from our friends among the alt-right (see: neo-nazi, not a term I throw around haphazardly either) who are likely now planning some sort of panzer attack. At least given the recent Victoria Day celebrations perhaps I can pretend it’s fireworks.

Last thought, we all know “white flour” (said it in a Southern style accent) is mostly void of any nutrition anyway.

One Love.

      1. I actually mean it to be encouraging because I, too, struggle with constantly apologizing for anything and everything. And I love that Canadians have a reputation for over-apologizing, although I must confess it was less apparent when I lived in Montreal for a while. 😉

      2. Indeed! I mostly loved it there. My mom’s family is French Canadian (she grew up in a little town in New Hampshire speaking only French), so it was a special time and place for me. My bad for being a typical American and only speaking American, though. 😉

  1. We All-Whites may have reason for shame, but I think it unfit to dwell there, for we may also have reason for pride, where I think it equally unfit to dwell. No race can claim to have acted alone, without consort with other races, for good or ill. Only White Men went to the Moon, but we did not do it because we were white, nor did we do it without the help of some Blacks (and others). I am proud of my Nation for that accomplishment, and for Mankind, because it really was a Giant Leap, and I gladly share that pride with all races.

  2. Lol love the title, your words are a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel for myself and I can imagine some others. One great accomplishment of technology is that we can reach across the world now and shine a light in others time of darkness.

Also love what you wrote here “I’ve glimpsed far too much of the filthy underside of that particular up-turned rock to ever reclaim any hint of innocence.” Perfectly said.

  3. I hope and believe that those of us who feel as you do are a resounding majority. The problem is how very loud and persistent that hate-filled minority can be. So glad you posted this one. As Edmund Burke said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” This post is definitely something… My sincerest thanks for saying what so many of us feel…🙏

  4. Great title. White bread, so processed that it has lost all remnants of nature and health. Perhaps you are the poet that will set us straight on the path to reconciliation and nobility regained?

  5. Thanks, hate is hateful, but it occurs underneath layers of context. The trick is what to do about it. Would you mind if I pasted a link here to post that introduces an amazing person who is showing us some concrete steps we take to counter in some palpably useful ways.

  6. I not only enjoyed your poem but viewing the comments that it inspired.

I believe that if everyone were to be more tolerant of one another and the past actions of others (knowing they are in the past) and look to how we can individually be the change that we would wish to see in the world now and in the future, then life would be healthier and happier for us all 💜

Thank you so much for taking the time to like my post, I really do appreciate that.
