Sub-Par-Sub-Basements

Good day brothers and sisters! Thank you for interrupting your Saturday morning cartoon regimen on my account!

I do feel as though I should issue a warning, today’s material is a bit of a downer. No pun intended. The topic is one about which I’ve become fairly well versed over the years. Having seen much from both sides of this prison’s bars. I tried to include a joke or two to lighten the mood somewhat at least. I don’t think it worked. 🙂

“Journey to the Center of the Dearth”

Addiction is beyond a horrible thing

Will nothing but heartache and suffering bring

The introductory, sweet, gentle caress

Very swiftly fades leaving only a mess

Too many now I’ve seen slowly fade away

Even those still living, not seen to this day

Often to hit bottom then reach for a spade

Before long a whole new sub-basements been made

Some day you’ll have to consider pragmatic

Approach your health from a standpoint emphatic

In my view there are only just the two trails

Life for success or death to he who fails.

Feel free to change that last line to “she” or any other gender for that matter as long as it’s only one syllable. Sorry for not being more inclusive.

I’m not in the mood to expand further upon the somewhat depressing material above. It’s far too lovely a day a get bogged down in such an unpleasant sand-trap. I can’t help it, I’m a sub-par golfer (not in the good way) and spend considerably more time frolicking in the sand than did Pamela Anderson in the 90’s… Sorry.

Don’t worry, be happy! But not like the guy who released that song seeing as he actually killed himself in the end. Jeez, that took a turn. [*Correction: he is very much alive and in fact still touring. Always fact-check, kids! How embarrassing.:)] OK, I’ll take a second swing. Be yourself and don’t let anyone tell you that’s wrong! Unless you’re like a serial murderer or something in which case, umm, don’t worry, be happy? Perhaps just turn yourself in to the proper authorities. Thank you!

One love!

Zero murders!

A broken mind held together by cellophane and some tack.

  1. Glad to know that I can also claim the “sub-par golfer” status. I feel snootier already 😉
