In retrospect, does not the phrase, “Ride on the Magic School Bus” sound more hallucinogen-oriented than science based? Then again, the corollary between drugs and science is well-defined. It definitely seems like more was going on than just a mad teacher, her lizard henchwoman and a bus imbued with questionable magicks. What seems more likely is that she was sedating the kids to perform 1980’s style CIA mind-control experiments. Remember, you read it here first on, “The Lone Punman”. X-Files joke? No? Yes? I love that show. Even the reasonably terrible newer episodes. The nostalgia is strong in this one.
Moving on! Today’s piece was written entirely when I randomly thought of the word keel. I love homographs that have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Homonyms and homophones as well. What can I say, I love me some homos. Yesterday evening’s efforts, enjoy!
Nautical Riles, July 16, 2018
The keel of a ship and that of a person
Share the trait that they’ll infinitely worsen
Should their construction prove shoddy and porous
Susceptible they to a darker chorus
A few will sink quick the others to limp on
Hulls and souls leaking though sails may be full drawn
It’s more than lumber and nails which crafts a boat
Broken friends are just as likely to not float
A loving, active mind’s needed to create
Quality ships or people there’s no debate
Structural integrity degrades quite fast
When sub-par material’s used as our mast.
I feel as thought the last word could almost be switched with “massed”. Homo affinities notwithstanding, idea of the damaged masses appeals to my twisted sensibilities and pragmatic worldview. The link between shoddy creation of inanimate goods and that of humans is an interesting parallel. If you don’t take time, exercise wisdom, teach and most vitally LEARN, you may well be left with inferior goods. Not that repairs cannot be made… better though, I think, to get it right on the first pass.
A random note! Sometimes accepting ‘No” for an answer is or becomes the infinitely superior outcome. Be open to rejection, you’ve no idea what may materialize due to its influence. Please note, should that “No” comes from a lady (or gentleman) in a romantic context please leave them the fuck alone. Let’s all play nice now!
Happy trails and wagging tails to all my friends! Enemies as well, your position is one-sided, I refuse to hold grudges! For more than like a month at the most anyway. 🙂

A lovely little poem,
Sailing on the ocean,
Minding its own beeswax,
Swimmin’ in the seas,
Happy as you please
But along comes a gale, ker-splat!
Sorree! Easy come, easy go, what can I tell ya! 😀
